Palazzo Milesi

Via Verdi 54 - 25030 Erbusco (BS)

The Palazzo Milesi, an elegant residence dating back to the 17th century, underwent numerous alterations in the 19th century and a radical restoration in 1960. It is located at the beginning of Via Verdi, with its main facade facing south. The building, with its expansive layout, is architecturally characterized by a severity of lines and simplicity of design, giving the residence an air of refined austerity cherished by the Brescian patrons of that era. It also pays homage to the aesthetic decorative qualities of Sarnico stone, used here as a construction material for columns, steps, walls, and chimneys. T

he palace has a distinctive inverted L-shaped floor plan. The porch elevation, simple and linear, is enhanced by three short staircases made of sandstone and morainic pebbles, separated by a wall of Sarnico stone. These staircases lead to the raised portico, which overlooks the courtyard and the surrounding garden. The beautiful portico, with three arches resting on Tuscan-style columns made of sandstone, enlivens the palace’s facade. On the ground floor, separated by a Sarnico stone staircase, there are three rooms to the east and two to the west. T

he interiors still preserve the architectural structures of the 17th century. On the east side, the palace features a portico with characteristics dating back to the 16th or early 17th century, with impressive square pilasters supporting four central arches.

The eastern section opens onto a deep archway that leads to the expansive garden surrounding the entire palace.  On the west side of the palace, there is a lower building with a noteworthy sundial.
