Villa Pasini

Via Villanuova 5 - 25030 Erbusco (BS)

Villa Pasini (formerly Martinengo Palace) is located in the hamlet of Villa and is a beautiful and noble residence dating back to the 17th century, commissioned by the Martinengo family. In the early 20th century, it became the permanent residence of the Pasini family. The Villa houses many works by the renowned portrait painter Emilio Pasini (1872-1953). The original features of the building are preserved only in the central part, and the only room that has fully retained its 17th-century architectural and decorative structure is the last room to the east on the ground floor.

The western wing and the grand staircase leading to the first floor are the result of renovations and transformations that took place over the centuries, particularly between the 19th and 20th centuries. The main entrance is on the south side of the property and consists of two sturdy marble pillars topped with slender amphorae, supporting an artistic wrought iron gate, characterized by a harmonious and symmetrical interplay of volutes, and intertwining in the middle band, designed by the architect Abate Marchetti. The palace is protected by a tall enclosing wall, encompassing a large park with tall trees and areas of lawn where a 17th-century marble fountain with the statue of Leda and the swan is located.

The building features an “inverted L-shaped” plan with a simple and harmonious architectural design. The portico, now transformed into a veranda, consists of seven central arches resting on masonry pillars with cross vaults. At the center of the back wall, an elegant arched opening displays the frescoed coat of arms of the Pasini family.
